Paper Babies






This is a 12' study model I did for my Performa midterm at UK. The curve
folding started to add to a structural system but there were
many problems with the unit. I also have no idea how to take it out of the
paper world since it relies on scoring to achieve any strength. And those
joint connections are killing me...

It's looking good man. What material will this end up being? Steel?

That's the problem. I don't know how
to get it past paper, I never thought it would actually.

why not use laminated wood. some studio here was using like super bendy wood stuff to make similar surface systems. looked really nice and seemed more forgiving than steel (particularly in terms of cutting).
